Facebook followed the footsteps of WhatsApp and Instagram to announce its “Stories” feature back in June 2017. Initially, the social media giant cloned Stories from its rival social media platform, Snapchat and launched it as an experimental feature for users.
Facebook allows its users to post their Stories which currently last for 24 hours. However, it seems like the company is going to change the way the feature works, allowing them to stay longer than the existing timeframe. A reverse-engineer Jane Wong recently discovered that Facebook is testing Stories that would last for 3 days. Moreover, Wong also shared a screenshot highlighting the hidden functionality:

Facebook Looking For New Ways To Build Its Business Around Stories?
It is worth noting the company noticed significant growth back in 2018, and Facebook Stories turned out to be a major hit. Its probably because of this reason, the social media platform is looking for new ways to increase interaction. Last year, Facebook announced that more than 500 million users were now using the platform, which was probably because of Facebook’s new features.
No doubt, Facebook Stories is extremely popular among the advertisers, since more than 3 million advertisers have used the feature to run marketing campaigns. It would be interesting to see if Facebook manages to attract more businesses to use its platform.
If Facebook goes ahead with its plan, the Stories that last for 3 days could be more profitable for the advertisers and content creators. Do you want Facebook to release this feature for everyone? Sound off in the comments section below.
