Facebook, which is one of the largest social media platforms, is now experiencing tough competition from its competitors. It’s one of the major reasons that the social media giant is now working to improve the platform.
As a part of these efforts, the company is pretty much busy in introducing interoperability and feature parity between its apps. Thus, to achieve this goal, Facebook has already started merging the back-end of its popular messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
However, it seems like the company is implementing these changes in phases. A reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, recently spotted that Facebook is working to bring the capability to cross-post Stories to Instagram.

Here’s How Facebook Plans To Implement The Feature
The new feature will allow users to easily share their Facebook Stories with friends and family on Instagram. The screenshot shared by Jane shows that the “Story Privacy” section on Facebook will feature a toggle button to control the feature.
If the company plans to go ahead with its release, you will no longer have to separately post the same Story on both platforms. At the time of writing this article, the social media company didn’t reveal an ETA for the public release of this feature.
But Facebook’s Tech Comms Manager Alexandru Voica confirmed that the feature is currently under development as Jane notes:
“FB’s @alexvoica said this was something they’re testing as part of simplifying and improving how Stories work across apps“
Another user wrote, “it’s about time. They should also add Whatsapp there too for business/brand accounts.”
