E3 2018: Monster Hunt and Final Fantasy XIV Online Collaboration

This June, at E3, not even online RPGs were left behind with the collaborations. This time, it was Capcom and Square Enix that brought together the worlds of Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter: World together in a huge amalgamated online world.

Square Enix, not a company that needs an introduction, happen to be the game developing giants responsible for titles like the Final Fantasy series and the Kingdom of Hearts series. They have come a long way and can surely be expected to blow everyone’s minds away, especially as they have proved, this year, at E3. Capcom, on the other hand, is no slouch either. Primarily known for the Street Fighter series, they have come up with titles like Mega Man, the Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry series (with its fifth edition on its way) and the Monster Hunter series. A collaboration between the two can be nothing short of amazing, as it can be seen in the teaser trailer below

As seen in the short trailer, both the world are superimposed in such a way as to complement each other, rather than being in the way. Although, the 55-second trailer doesn’t really tell us what is in store for the players, it was announced that Producer and Director, Naoki Yoshida, will be joined by the Producer of Monster Hunter: World,¬†Ryozo Tsujimoto in a live broadcast on the 12th of June, at 11:00 am PDT, to further discuss the collaboration.

As far as the content delivered to us via the trailer goes, it sure does look exciting. That, paired with the fact that both franchises, Final Fantasy with 10 million registered players and Monster Hunter with 8 million, the world of online gaming will, without a single ounce of doubt, be revolutionised beyond comprehension. It will open the doors to new opportunities, challenges and adventures that the player will encounter as they move along the game.
