Download Windows 10 October Patch Tuesday Update Today To Fix App & Printer Driver Issues And More

Microsoft is back with yet another round of Patch Tuesday Updates. The Redmond giant has just released October 2019 Patch Tuesday Updates for all supported versions of Windows 10.

Those who are running the latest version of Windows 10 can now install KB4517389 on their systems. The update increases the existing version of Windows 10 to 18362.418. Microsoft has pushed security updates for Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. Additionally, you will find some other changes that can help you in username password verification process.

Critical Vulnerability Fix

Some client/server systems were previously experiencing relatively higher CPU utilization and connection latency issues. This problem was caused by CVE-2019-1318 on machines that don’t support Extended Master Secret RFC 7627. Microsoft as addressed this issue in the recent update for Windows 10 systems.

App & Printer Driver Issues

Some recent Windows 10 updates introduced printing issues for Windows 10 users. Microsoft has specifically addressed issues with some printer and application drivers that required Windows JavaScript engine (jscript.dll) in order to process print commands. You should install KB4517389 to resolve this issue on production machines.

General Security Updates

Windows 10 cumulative update KB4517389 brings a handful of general security updates for Windows Cryptography, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Shell, Windows Server, Windows Kernel, Windows Authentication, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge.

Known Issues

As of now, Microsoft has not acknowledged any known issues associated with KB4517389. Still, we can not deny the potential problems that might affect your systems. We have already reported about a handful of issues caused by recent Windows 10 updates. We really hope that this patch will not repeat history.
