Doom Eternal Switch Version Is Very Close, Says Executive Producer Marty Stratton

Right after Interview, Amazon updates the listing

Doom Eternal Switch version is in the final stages of development. Executive Producer Marty Stratton says that the game is “very close” to its release date.

In an interview with PAX Online x EGX Digital. Marty Stratton said that ID Software and Panic Button are trying to make the best version of the game. He further stated that the game would have been released earlier. However, it is taking longer because of COVID-19 and work from home nature.

“I wish I could give you specifics. I read all the comments, and when we say anything about Doom Eternal, Marty said at PAX. There’s always the one out of every five comments is, ‘Yeah, how about you tell us about the Switch?’ I know people are anxious.”

“It’s very close, and we’re trying to be very uncompromising with what it needs to be because there’s a high demand for it.” he said “We will be talking about it again in the not too distant future. It is close, but I can’t say exactly how close.”

Update: While writing this article, Amazon has just updated its Doom Eternal Switch Listing. According to the pre-order page, Doom Eternal will release on December 31, 2020, for Nintendo Switch. We have no idea if this is the authentic release date of Doom Eternal for Switch. Because Marty Stratton just gave an interview and didn’t mention any release date. December 31 does sound right though.
