The long awaited Destiny 2: Warmind expansion has been released as season three begins. Bungie posted a long list of patch notes on their website today. The main focus of the update is the addition of endgame activities and a PvP ranking system.
The level caps for Warmind owners have been increased to level 30 and Power level 385. Exotic weapons are being buffed as before players thought that they were not worth the grind. Kinetic, power and energy weapons were buffed.
Exotic Kinetic Weapons
The Jade Rabbit’s stability stat was increased by 20 points. Crimson, Rat King and Sweet Business saw an increase in their total ammo capacity. Sturm and Drang, the unique hand cannons, have an increased magazine size and have a higher stability stat.
Exotic Energy Weapons
The Graviton Lance is more stable, does more damage and has improved aim assist. Fighting Lion and Prometheus Lens have increased max and magazine ammo. The Sunshot and Riskrunner now deal more damage.
Exotic Power Weapons
D.A.R.C.I. and Borealis do not flinch as much and the former has increased aim assist. The Tractor Cannon now suppresses targets and makes them more vulnerable to Void damage for 10 seconds.
The Crucible is the only PvP game mode currently in Destiny 2. With the release of Warmind, players can reach six ranks:
Valor and Glory
The Valor ranking system tracks the number of matches played and increases as you win more and more. Losing matches will not lower your Valor. Valor can be earned in Quickplay, Rumble and Mayhem.
Glory, on the other hand, depends on your win loss ratio. It will go up as you win more games and down as you lose. Glory can only be earned by playing Competitive. This feature is intended for the more serious players, who care about their position on the leaderboard.
Destiny 2: Warmind is free for owners of the Expansion Pass, and $19.99 USD individually.
