Earlier this month, Dead By Daylight revealed its plans of a Stranger Things crossover chapter. Since the announcement, players have been eagerly waiting for the new update to go live on the public test build. Alongside the new Demogorgon killer and playable survivors, next week’s PTB will give players a chance to try out dedicated servers.
As detailed in a blog post, chapter 13 of the asymmetrical survival horror will launch in the coming weeks. As with all major content updates, developer Behavior Interactive will test the Stranger Things chapter via the PTB.
The first phase of the PTB, which kicks off on Tuesday September 3rd, will only feature design changes and dedicated servers. During this period, players will be able to experience the bloodweb changes, a new party management system, and of course, dedicated servers.
“We know that expectations are high, but we would like to reiterate that the roll-out of dedicated servers is only the beginning,” writes Behavior. “While there are many benefits to making the switch, it will take some time to implement new features and take full advantage of the servers. The initial launch is the first step of many, focusing on infrastructure.”
The second phase of the PTB launches the next day on September 4th, and will include the new content coming with chapter 13. Alongside the previous phase’s design changes, players will be able to try out the new Demogorgon killer as well as the new survivors on the Underground Complex map.
All of these features, especially the quality-of-life changes coming with patch 3.2.0, will greatly improve Dead By Daylight’s gameplay experience. While the new map will be a free addition, players will need to purchase the Stranger Things DLC to be able to unlock and play Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, or the Demogorgon killer.
