Darksiders III, the hack and slash action adventure game by THQ Nordic, is coming to Origin Access Premiere. The third installment in the Darksiders series launched for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 27th 2018. This might come as a surprise to some, but the Origin store includes numerous non-EA titles, and it looks like that another one is about to be added to the list.
The Darksiders III listing on Origin features the “Premiere” tag, indicating that the game will soon be available on EA’s monthly subscription service. At the time of writing, a date has not been given, but we can expect an official announcement very soon. Darksiders III can be purchased for the PC via Steam, Origin or the Epic Games Store.
Set on an apocalyptic Earth, Darksiders III follows FURY as she journeys to defeat the Seven Deadly Sins. The highly anticipated third chapter in the Darksiders franchise unfortunately failed to meet the expectations of many fans. Upon launch, the game received a wave of negative feedback from critics and players alike. Darksiders III on the PC was plagued with technical issues such as game crashes and bugs. Frame rate drops made combat in action-packed areas an unpleasant experience, to say the least.
As a result of the issues, Darksiders III suffered a poor launch. At the start of December, the game was selling 84% less than Darksiders II. According to SteamCharts, Darksiders III barely hit an all-time peek of 7,400 players.
Darksiders III’s poor review scores had a negative impact on the sales. Bringing the title to Origin Access Premiere will definitely give more players a chance to try out the game. While it won’t free the game of its wrecked reputation, it will attract those who were put off by the $60 price tag.
