Cyberpunk 2077 was perhaps the most hyped up game of the year 2020. After all, this year has been quite terrible in many ways. Due to lockdowns, people have gone back to gaming a lot and thus with this pass time, people demanded more games. Cyberpunk 2077, a game which is the birthchild of CD Projekt Red and has Keanu Reeves on its cover must build a lot of hype. After being delayed for countless months, the mounting pressure forced the company to actually release the title and we saw it come out last week. Now what? Well, obviously players are coming on to complete the title while reviewers are on their way to scrutinize it.
A couple of days in and the current verdict is just embarrassing. Not only is the game glitchy but for some folks out there, it is simply unplayable. According to an article from WCCFTECH, older generation consoles are having serious issues while running the game. Long loading times, choppy graphics and a lack of details is just the start of it. Some parts of the game are even running in at about 15fps.
The CEO of the company has advised people on getting a refund for the game and waiting out for later fixes for older generations. A patch is on the way, of course. But, getting a refund is just not that simple. for both PlayStation and Xbox, your game needs to be completely broken for them to deem it worthy of a refund. Not to mention, for digital titles its an even more tedious process. The company has offered an firstname.lastname@example.org for players to contact if they want assistance with their refunds.
This is not the best start to the game’s lifespan. Perhaps the patch would fix a lot of things but this seriously not how things go. And their claims about speeding through the development process are invalid. The company already delayed the title so much so this just seems like a stupid justification.
