Corsair is a well-known supplier of high-end memory kits. Their VENGEANCE brand is one of the most used memory kits in high-end systems. Corsair has announced another record-breaking commercially available high-frequency DRAM with clock speeds as high as 4866MHz. The memory will be available in 2x8GB configuration, and it will work best in systems with 3rd gen RYZEN processors.
The VENGEANCE LPX has long pushed the boundaries of computer hardware. According to guru3d, they are continuing the tradition under a new partnership with AMD Ryzen. These new sticks will be compatible with other platforms. However, Corsair has specifically designed them to work at their full potential with the Ryzen 3000 series desktop processors. They used many systems such as ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Formula, MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE, and MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION motherboards to test the capabilities of the new DRAMs. They used the inbuilt overclocking capabilities of the motherboards as mentioned above to achieve a stable memory frequency up to 4866MHz.
Due to frequencies extending beyond the 4500MHz mark, the LPX DDR4 memory kits dissipate a lot of heat. To tackle this Corsair has included a VENGEANCE Airflow Fan for direct cooling of the memory modules. The cooling module is available in different colors to match the style of the overall build. Speaking of the colors these memory kits have ten individually addressable LEDs. These LEDs can be customized through the Corsair iCUE software. Corsair also gives the option to synchronize the LEDs with other Corsair products in the build through the same software.
Corsair’s senior manager of products Reimar Goetze talked about their venture with AMD, stating, “We’re excited for Corsair to be the first to bring this unprecedented speed of DRAM to the market. Our loyal following of PC enthusiasts expects us to always push the envelope for high-end components so that we wouldn’t settle for anything less.”
