Update: Hasbro has apologized for its previous statement.
Hasbro, in an official statement to VGC, has offered an apology to Activision for their earlier comments, stating that those remarks were made “in error.”

To clarify, comments that suggest Transformers games have been lost were made in error,” Hasbro’s official statement reads.
We apologize to Activision and regret any confusion – they’ve been great partners, and we look forward to future opportunities to work together.”
During a recent interview at the San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro, the entertainment giant behind the iconic Transformers franchise, hinted at the possibility of the classic Transformers games making a comeback on Xbox via Xbox Game Pass.
According to the interview, the old Transformers games are believed to be stored on an old hard drive at Activision, the publisher responsible for the titles.
Q: Possible to re-release the Activision TF games to coincide with Gamer Edition?
A: Sadly, apparently Activision’s not sure what hard drives they’re on in their building. When a company eats a company that eats a company things get lost, and that’s very frustrating.
Hope is that now that the deal is moving forward with Microsoft and Xbox that they’ll go through all of the archives and every hard drive to find it all, because it’s an easy Game Pass add. We want those games back up for people to have a chance to play.”
Game Pass, Microsoft’s popular subscription service, grants players access to a vast library of games for a monthly fee, offering a cost-effective way to enjoy a variety of gaming experiences. The addition of Transformers games to this collection could undoubtedly be exciting for long-time enthusiasts and introduce new generations of players to these timeless titles.
The Transformers games listed for the Xbox platform are:
- Transformers: Devastation
- Transformers: The Game
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Transformers: Dark of the Moon
- Transformers: War for Cybertron
- Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
- Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
These titles allowed players to step into the shoes of their favorite Autobots and Decepticons, engaging in epic battles on the iconic Cybertron.
While the potential return of these games is generating excitement among fans, it is essential to remain cautious. Hasbro stated that there is no guarantee that the old Transformers games will indeed find their way onto Xbox Game Pass. Nevertheless, the glimmer of hope they provided has reignited interest in the possibility of experiencing these classic games once again.
Moreover, Hasbro’s mention of other Transformers games that never saw the light of day on Xbox platforms has raised curiosity among the community. If Microsoft puts in enough effort to locate and revive these games as well, it could mean an even more comprehensive Transformers gaming experience for fans of the franchise.
As the Microsoft and Activision deal progresses, fans can only remain patient and optimistic about the return of these treasured games.
