Windows 10 was released by Microsoft on July 2015. year. Microsoft is publishing updates for operating systems and applications, which are increasing productivity, reliability and security. So, when Microsoft is publishing updates? Microsoft is using term Patch Tuesday (Update Tuesday) which means that Microsoft releases updates every second or fourth Tueday of each month. Few weeks ago Microsoft released new version of Windows 10 operating system, named Windows 10 Creators update, version 1703. Previous versions of Windows 10 are 1507, 1511 and 1607. Windows 10 Creators update will be delivered to your machines if your Windows 10 has automatic updates enabled.
If you want to check which version of Windows 10 your deviec is running, you need to select the Start menu, then click Settings, choose System and then click About.
So how you will know when Creators update will be availabel to your machines? Windows 10 will notify you when new version of Windows 10 is available for your client machine. When update is ready, you will need to review your privacy settings before downloading Creators update. There are two important notes for privacy settings as following:
- The privacy settings will take effect after you install Windows 10 Creators Update
- Only an administrator has a privilege to choose settings, standard accounts are not allowed to do any changes. All changes will apply to all acounts on your client machine
After you turn on privacy settings, your Creators update will start downloading, and after that install on your machines. But how to check when Creators update will download and install to your device?

- Click to Start Menu
- Click to Settings
- Choose Update and Security
- Choose Windows update
- On the right side of window, below Update status you will see download or install progress, if Windows 10 1703 is downloading or installing. If there is not any progress, you can click to Check for updates, to synchronize your machine with Microsoft servers.
Also you can check is Windows 10 1703 downloaded to you machine, all you need is to click Update history, which will open new window with all updates downloaded from Microsoft.
