Over the past few days, rumors have been flying around hinting at a remastered version of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign. All of the leaks pointed to a surprise release for March 31st, and it seems they were all spot on. A remastered version of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 campaign is out now on PlayStation 4, with other platforms seeing a release on April 30th. Check out the official reveal trailer below:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Although the reveal trailer was leaked yesterday, we weren’t sure of the game’s exact release date. Now, with the official website up and running, we know that highly-requested campaign remaster is truly real.
“Relive the epic single-player Campaign from the 2009 blockbuster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, remastered in true high-definition,” reads the announcement post. “Experience classic missions including Cliffhanger, The Gulag, and Whiskey Hotel as you join Soap, Price, Ghost and the rest of Task Force 141 in the globe-spanning fight to restore order to the world.”
The Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Campaign is available to purchase on the PlayStation Store, and comes with a bunch of bonuses for Warzone players. Call of Duty: Warzone is a new standalone battle royale mode for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Those who purchase the remastered campaign will receive the Classic Ghost Bundle in Warzone for free. The bundle consists of a legendary operator skin, two exclusive weapon blueprints, and other cosmetics.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will be available to purchase on other platforms starting April 30th. PC users can purchase it via Battle.net, and Xbox One players can buy it digitally. A physical release for the consoles is yet to be confirmed. The game costs €24.99 on the PS Store, but the prices for other platforms is still unknown. The remastered campaign also calls for a 46 GB file size.
