Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Introduces Cosmetics in the form of Signature Weapons

In this day and age, cosmetics and weapon skins are part of almost every first person shooter. In Activision’s upcoming title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, a new system called Signature Weapons will be added.
Signature Weapons
Announced in a blog post on Activision’s website, the Signature Weapons system allows players to earn cosmetic variants of numerous weapons. Players can unlock these cosmetic variants by completing challenges. Each Signature Weapon also features its own progression with individual challenges, allowing players to unlock more cosmetics for that weapon. By completing all challenges for a Signature Weapon, the Mastercraft version of the weapon will be unlocked for the player.
“Signature Weapons are the most badass looking weapons in Black Ops 4, and a badge of honor for the battle-hardened players that have invested the time to achieve the Mastercraft versions,” reads the blog post. All Signature Weapons perform exactly like their base counterpart and offer no competitive advantage whatsoever.
Pre-order Bonus
Those who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 at GameStop will receive the Strife pistol Signature Weapon: “Divinity”. Similar to other Signature Weapons, players can unlock the golden “Divine Justice” variant of the pistol by unlocking all of its rewards. The MX-9 Signature Weapon will be awarded to those who purchased the Digital Deluxe, Digital Deluxe Enhanced, Pro Edition or Mystery Box Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The additional content will be delivered to player accounts once the game launches on October 12th.

Although the Strife pistol cosmetics can only be unlocked by those in the US, the MX-9 Signature Weapon is available everywhere Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is sold. Needless to say, Signature Weapons are optional and you will not be at an advantage or disadvantage when using one. Either way, they are a fun way of showing off player progress.
