Brawlhalla, Ubisoft’s Free to Play Platform Fighter, Comes to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in November

Brawlhalla is an action platform fighting game developed by Blue Mammoth Games and published by Ubisoft. The game is available for free on PC and PlayStation 4 using a free to play scheme. Announced at Gamescom today, Brawlhalla will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One for free. Check out the official announcement trailer that was shown today:

In this 2D action packed platformer, up to eight players join up for a local or online match to fight it out. Players can pick from over thirty Legends, each with their unique powers. The free to play model of the game features a Legend Rotation of six free to play characters that rotate every week. Alternatively, players can purchase Legends using in-game currency, or make a one time purchase of the All Legends Pack to unlock all characters permanently. Although there are a bunch of micro-transactions, they are purely cosmetic and offer no competitive advantage whatsoever.

Brawlhalla is set in Valhalla, a heaven for warriors built by Odin. On his command, Valkyries, beautiful goddesses of war, scoured the universe for the greatest warriors to fill this hall. To Odin’s surprise, the Valkyries brought back not only vikings, but legendary warriors of every description, and soon pirates, cowboys, Mongol warriors, Amazons, even monsters and aliens roamed the hall.

While waiting for Ragnarok, the warriors become bored. Constant battle spilled out of the Great Hall, and Asgard was smashed to rubble again and again. Odin, pulling his hair out in a last moment of desperation, set up the grand tournament. Now, the best warriors from every time and place fight to become champion, while the Valkyries constantly venture far and wide to bring back warriors who will earn them honor in Brawlhalla.

With over 15 million players on PC and PlayStation 4 combined, Brawlhalla developers aim to increase that number by increasing availability of the game. Brawlhalla will be available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on November 6th.
