Just a week afters its launch, Borderlands 3 has already announced its first post-launch event. As revealed in the first episode of the Borderlands Show, the game’s very first Halloween event kicks off next month. Aptly named “Bloody Harvest”, the update is the first of many as Gearbox has massive post-launch plans for the popular looter shooter. In addition to new “Haunted” enemies, weapons, and cosmetics, Bloody Harvest will allow players access to an entirely new spooky map.
All Borderlands 3 players who have gained access to Sanctuary III will be able to take part in the event for free. Once the event is live, new Haunted enemies will spawn across the galaxy. These unique foes inflict the new Terror debuff, which not only obscures your vision, but also decreases weapon handling, spread and accuracy.
By exploring the galaxy, players will earn Hecktoplasm, a substance which is required to gain access to the Bloody Harvest map. Once here, players will face multiple new spooky enemy types, including a Halloween-themed boss battle.
Borderlands 3 players who have played the campaign will likely remember Captain Traunt, a Maliwan super soldier with heavy-hitting elemental attacks. In Bloody Harvest, players will have to face him again under the name of Captain Haunt. Not only is he bonier than usual, the new boss has access to some “spooky new powers”.
Of course, a Halloween event obviously means new skins. Bloody Harvest introduces new cosmetic rewards for each of the four Vault Hunters. An ECHO Device Skin, a Weapon Trinket, and a globally applicable weapon skin are all available to unlock. Additionally, two new weapons, a new shield, and a grenade mod have been added. All of the new additions mentioned will be dropped by Haunted enemies and have a chance to apply the Terror debuff on their targets.
As of now, we don’t have an exact release date for the Bloody Harvest event. Learn more about the upcoming Halloween event here.
