Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, an action adventure game under development by Inti Creates, will be launched at the end of this year. The creators have announced plans to release an 8-bit style game titled Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. This smaller prequel game was initially a stretch goal of the Kickstarter campaign for the main game.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon will be out May 24th and a code will be given to all Kickstarter backers who contributed the required amount. The game features four playable characters:
The first character you start off as is Zangetsu, who is equipped with a sword. As you progress through the game, you will find others and can build up your party. The other three characters are Miriam, a young woman who wields a whip, Alfred the master alchemist and Gebel who can morph into a bat. Once you have recruited them, you can swap to any character during the level, assuming they are alive. You only need to have one character alive by the end of the level to succeed. Curse of the Moon introduces variety in gameplay and level design by having locations only accessible by certain characters.
