Fallout games have always been very profitable for Bethesda, while being critically acclaimed at the same time. When Bethesda announced a new Fallout game, hype levels were off the charts.
But it turned out to be a online multiplayer role playing game, which dissapointed many fans who were looking forward to the usual single player experience. Although Fallout’s setting will complement a multiplayer survival game well. Bethesda had recently uploaded a video on YouTube titled “You Will Emerge”, which did give away a lot of gameplay features, we will see in the final release.
The video starts with a Vault Boy emerging from a Vault, this is where we have our first look at the C.A.M.P tool also called Construction and assembly mobile platform. It will probably work as a building tool for players. The clip shows that the C.A.M.P tool can be used to build shelters, means to get food and also to make a medicine bench for healing. This does imply a hunger system is present in the game and players will need to look for food sources from time to time.
Then we see the Vault Boy collecting resources from some sort of a mine while there’s a enemy behind him. This means Bethesda will introduce a resource system where players will need to grind for in-game wealth and collect resources by performing various activities.
We also got to see a shelter building system, where the built shelters could also be relocated using the C.A.M.P tool. Then the clip shows a weapon crafting feature, where the Vault Boy crafts a crossbow and sells the crafted weapon to another Vault Boy. This implies that the game will have a crafting and trading module.
Fallout 76 will be Bethesda Studio’s first online multiplayer game and will launch on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 14th 2018.
