Spy watches are discrete little gadgets that allow the bearer to record audio or video without alerting anyone. Not just that, they can take pictures directly as well. Just as spy movies have led us to believe, watches are the most discrete of gadgets capable of hiding in plain sight. Why one might need a spy watch- we’ll leave that to your imagination. But they are here and they are being used more frequently than you might think. If the need arises where you must record the happenings without raising any alarms, the spy watch is the way to go. But in order to successfully execute this covert mission, you need to make sure that your watch raises no suspicions.
Today, we’ve gone ahead and gathered a list of the 5 best spy watches, we think, are the best out there. So, without further adieu, let’s get started.
1. Miebul Camera Loop Video Recorder
- Full HD video capture
- Can capture pictures and record videos
- Very high resolution of pictures and videos
- Night vision support
- Long recording time
- Issues with playback on Macs
Video Resolution: 1920x1080 | Picture Resolution: 1920 x 1080 | Battery Time: 90 minutes | Storage Capacity: 16 GB | Video Format: AVI | Picture Format: JPEG
We’re not going to ask why you need a watch with a hidden camera. Obviously, if you are reading this list, you have your reasons. Unfortunately, a lot of these watches miss out on the simple stuff. The whole point of these devices is to be inconspicuous and unobtrusive. Fortunately, this watch from Miebul focuses on just that. It doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but do you really need any for a watch like this?
First and foremost, this thing actually looks quite attractive. It’s the sort of steel-band silver watch you see on men’s wrists a lot. The fact the design is so common means it blends in even better. It comes with a watchband adjustment tool as well. This way you can feel comfortable while, well, spying.
So, let us quickly go over the specs for those of you who care. This thing has an internal battery and can be charged via USB. It has 16 gigabytes of memory that can store over 5 hours of video. The battery life comes around to 1080p. The recording resolution for the video is about 90 minutes. Considering the size of this device, that’s not bad at all. You can perform the recording function with the click of a button.
Other than that, it’s a solid overall watch for getting the job done. When you’re not using the camera, it can even pass as a regular watch. The only issue is that it doesn’t work seamlessly with QuickTime on macOS. So, you might want to use the VLC Media Player.
2. FBA-Watch 2 Hidden Camera Watch
With SD Card Support
- Comfortable and stylish to wear
- Has night vision mode
- 16 GB internal memory along with 32 GB SD card
- Long charge time
- Cannot take pictures
Video Resolution: 1080p HD | Picture Resolution: None | Battery Time: 70 minutes | Storage Capacity: 16 GB + 32 GB SD Card | Video Format: AVI | Picture Format: None
The second spy watch on our list is the FBA-Watch 2. Despite having a tonne of tech hidden inside, this watch does not compromise on build quality or design. It is a stylish watch that you can wear in normal social gatherings as well. The dial for this watch is a digital one with shiny black leather straps to help keep it on your wrist. Inside this spy, the watch is a micro camera that blends in really well with the digital contents of this watch. It is capable of recording videos at up to 1080p HD for 70 minutes without breaks. All it requires for it to work for this long is a 2-hour charge. The camera also has a night vision mode that drains more battery and turns on the light on the dial on but captures videos in low light.
The dials on the right are used for changing time, turning it on or of whereas the left ones can change key modes. The bottom dial on the right has the mic hidden in it whereas the center-left has the USB port. For recording, it stores the videos directly in the SD card that is plugged in. A maximum of 32GB SD card can be used with the FBA-Watch 2. Top that off with the internal memory of 16 GB and it’s the perfect cherry on top. In order to watch the videos, connect the watch to a PC via the USB port and you’re good to go. It should be kept in mind that if the storage is maxed out in the SD card, this watch will overwrite the existing videos.
Although this watch is capable of recording at very high resolutions with a good frame rate, it cannot take pictures. This is the only real downer with this watch. Other than this, it works very well and looks good while doing so. It can be used in almost any situation without raising any flags of suspicion.
3. LKCare Hidden Wrist Watch Camera
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Fitness counter
- Clear picture even in high lightings
- Short battery timing
- No internal memory
Video Resolution: 1920 x 1080 | Picture Resolution: 2560 x 1440 | Battery Time: 60 minutes | Storage Capacity: None | Video Format: AVI | Picture Format: JPEG
Proceeding on with our list, we have LKCare’s wristwatch with a hidden camera. Unlike the previous two watches mentioned in our list, this one has a very different design. The front is an entirely digital 0.96-inch display that displays time and other things that you might need. The front panel has a resin layer on top of it which masks the camera, even more, making it harder to detect. However, the cost of this extra protection is a loss in video quality. It has rubber straps which make it a very comfortable watch to wear. This watch is capable of recording at 1920 x 1080p and take pictures at 2560 x 1440p. Moreover, with its 350mA battery, it can work for about 50-60 minutes at maximum. A lesser battery functioning time compared to the previous two watches.
There are three buttons on the side that are used for performing tasks. One is for powering on or off, another for taking pictures, and the third for shooting videos. This watch, along with recording and taking pictures, can also display content related to fitness. That includes calories burned, distance walked, and much more. This watch has no internal memory of its own and requires a class 10 SD card to work. Additionally, you can also alter or change the timestamps of the video files or the watch itself. Simply connect this watch to your PC and open the time.txt file to make changes. For other watch options or modifications, you can have it connected to your phone via Bluetooth. Once that’s done, simply navigate to this watch’s app and there you’ll be allowed to change the time, etc.
The care watch is a rather expensive watch but has a lot of things to offer. Bluetooth connectivity, high-resolution video recording, and picture capturing, timestamps, and a 0.96-inch display counter- all of these are in this LKCare watch. It is easy to wear and use, and can be connected to a phone via Bluetooth. The display screen can then show text messages directly from your phone to your watch. But, all of this relies on a very low-powered battery which can work for only up to 60 minutes. Moreover, this watch has no internal memory storage of its own so you will need to invest in an SD card as well.
4. Aipinvip Hidden Camera Watch
Long Battery Timing
- Can record videos as well as audios
- Conserves battery life
- Works as a smartwatch as well
- Does not record if memory is maxed out
- The rubber straps come loose over time
Video Resolution: 1920 x 1080 | Picture Resolution: 2560 x 1440 | Battery Time: 120 minutes for video and 90 minutes for audio recording | Storage Capacity: None | Video Format: MOV | Picture Format: JPEG
Going on down with the list, we have the Aipinvip spy watch with a hidden camera and a microphone. Considering how the previous three watches in this list have been rather expensive to purchase, our next contender has an answer to that. This watch is a little cheaper than the previous ones and offers somewhat the same features. To start off, the build quality is rather flimsy. Not that the cheap price tag is a justification for that but this watch’s rubber straps have been known to come loose. Get past that and you have a digital display screen that shows not just the time but acts as a fitness watch too. It can display calories consumed, number of steps, and much more. It can record in 1920 x 1080p and take pictures at 2560 x 1440 resolution.
This watch has only two buttons, one for taking pictures and the others for recording. However, apart from the power button, it has a few extra features too for recording. After some time of it being idle, shake the watch and it will turn on to display the time, etc. Additionally, this watch has a microphone too so it can record audios as well. The battery will last for 120 minutes if recording audio or 90 minutes for videos. Unlike some of the more expensive watches, this watch does not have an internal memory so you will need a micro SD card. It ought to be noted that if memory is maxed out, this watch will simply not record or take pictures. Still, would’ve been easier if the watch simply deleted the content stored to make room for new ones.
For the folks looking for a cheap and easy purchase of a watch with a camera, we recommend the Aipinvip watch. It has all the things you might need out of a spy watch but compromises by cutting down on build quality and ease of use. If these things are not a problem for you, then the Aipinvip watch will work just as well as others.
5. EOQO Bracelet Camera Watch
- High quality pictures and videos
- Can support 128 GB micro SD card
- Battery life degrades over time
- Digital display pops out of rubber straps
- Camera is almost obvious
Video Resolution: None | Picture Resolution: 2560 x 1440 | Battery Time: 90 minutes | Storage Capacity: None | Video Format: None | Picture Format: JPEG
The final spy watch in our list is a rather inexpensive solution but not recommended for long-term usage. It comes with a very friendly price tag but has a catch. Like the previous watch, the Eoqo watch too has rubber straps on it to help keep it on your wrist. It has a digital display screen that shows time and status. Although the rubber is tight enough to stay on the hand, there have been multiple accounts of the digital display popping out. Moreover, the camera is underneath the display panel but it is not covered very well. That means that it can be spotted rather easily if the other is paying attention. It can capture pictures in very high definition- 1920 x 1080. Unfortunately, this watch can not record videos.
The battery of this watch lets it run for about 90 minutes, which is great but degrades over time. Although inexpensive, the battery time will become shorter and shorter over time as you use the watch. Furthermore, there is no internal storage capacity in this watch but it can support a micro SD card of up to 128 GB. The digital display can be detached from the rubber straps for charging or connecting purposes. Other than that, there are buttons on the sides for power, taking pictures, or recording videos.
This EOQO watch is an inexpensive watch for quick spying purposes. But, it is not recommended for long-term uses. The battery life will go down over time and it does so rather quickly. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a cheap watch with a camera for recording or taking pictures, this watch can be of use. It can come in handy as a disposable watch with a short functioning time.
