This error is usually caused by a corrupt windows service, which cannot support the services required to add/install the printer. In this guide, i will list down the steps required to resolve this error.
1 If there have been any previous installations of the printer software or driver, then that needs to be removed. The best way to do that is by downloading RevoUninstaller from www.revouninstaller.com and using their uninstall/forced uninstall option to completely remove the driver, software and all the traces from the registry.
2 The next step is to run system file checker, which you can by opening command prompt as administrator and typing sfc /scannow. See image below:
3 In the screen shot above, you see that first you need to run the sfc /scannow command, once it finishes, then you need to run this command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
This will take a few minutes, once the DISM tool finishes, it will tell you that the The restore operation completed successfully. The component store corruption was repaired.
After this, you will need to reboot the computer, and then you can re-add the printer.
