Zenpad 3s 10 At First Glance

Asus has established its name in the tech industry and is one of the most popular brands out there. Gadgets ranging from gaming peripherals to even tablets, Asus has it all and now they have struck back with the release of the Asus Zenpad 3s 10 (Z500). Though the name is a bit of a mouthful, the tablet itself is a fine piece of machinery.

Who is the Asus Zenpad 3s 10 made for?

Asus has branched out its product to a majority in the tech community. From avid gaming enthusiasts to full-time workaholics, both of them can avail the tablet’s interesting features.

The tablet contains a powerful Hexa-Core processor with 4 GB RAM and a pretty long lasting battery life of 5900 mAh. All of these specs plus the integrated GX 6250 IMG Graphics contribute in providing you the power you need to run high-end games and the speed you need to run heavy programs.

The elegance of the tablet also stands out where a simple middle-class man wielding it can make himself look like a high profile businessman.

Asus Zenpad 3s 10 (Z500) vs the Asus Zenpad 3s 10 LTE

There are 2 variants to the Asus Zenpad 3s 10. Both of the devices contain unique features which outweigh the advantages of each tablet but still, a majority of them are kept the same.

Sleek and minimal design makes the Zenpad 3s 10 standout from the crowd!

Essentially what the Z500 lacks, the LTE version contains and vice versa. The features that have been kept the same include the Display, Camera, Connectivity and most of the Design as well. There is a great increase in battery life and in weight on the LTE version. The battery life is increased to a whopping 7800 mAh whereas the Z500 has a maximum capacity of 5900 mAh and the weight is increased from 430g to 490g.

Other different features include system chips in which the Z500 contains a MediaTek MT8176 system chip and the LTE version boasts a Snapdragon 650 8956 system chip. The Z500 also contains a faster processor and larger storage capacity than its counterpart. Overall both have their own advantages and are excellent products from Asus.

First Glance of the Asus Zenpad 3s 10 (Z500)

The Asus Zenpad 3s 10 comes firmly packaged in a strong box with a matte black finish to it. Along with the box you get a Stylus pen which is also packaged in its own independent box.

Unboxing it was a joy, there were no hassles and the box simply cut open from its neat plastic coated body. The tablet itself was covered with neat plastic coating as well and the included peripherals consist of a cardboard stand, warranty card and instruction manual, USB type C cable and a 5-volt adapter.

Build and Design

The tablet has a simple yet elegant design to it which factors to its premium look, a look which awfully resembles the Ipad in many eyes. It has a sturdy build quality with sleek metal and aluminum body plus it is available in 2 color variants including gray and silver.

It has a glossy look with a pretty smooth surface and the overall tablet is very light in weight. Some might even consider the tablet to be too smooth to get a firm grip on it. There is a fitted sensor on the tablet as well which serves as the fingerprint sensor.

The Stylus is included with the tablet which is essentially a pen which is a plus point for avid animators. It is also rated for about 150 hours of battery time. On the sides of the tablet, you can find touch sensitive control keys.

Impressive battery life

Battery Life

Though the battery on the Asus Zenpad 3s 10 Z500 is not as large as the one in the LTE version but is also nothing short of extraordinary. 5900 mAh to be exact which is more than enough for any daily user. A full charge was tested to last more than a full day easily while under heavy usage.

The tablet supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology as well but for some reason, an 18 Watt fast charge adapter is sold separately while you are stuck with a 5 Watt charger which comes with the tablet.

The Camera on the device is surely not the best we have seen until now. Many customers have complaints about the camera being pretty low quality but what could you expect from a budget tablet with 8 and 5 MP camera lens. Though many would also argue that who uses a tablet to capture photos any way.

Asus claim their camera can capture high-resolution photos in low light as well but that is not the case here. Surely they will improve in the future but for now, the camera is nothing special.

Another main selling point of the tablet is its promise of power. With all the heavy-duty components that the Zenpad features including the HexaCore 2100 MHz processor and the PowerVR GPU, the tablet surely won’t cause any lagging issues in the long run as well.

Zenpad 3s 10 is a powerhouse

Asus also featured a brand new ZenUI for its consumers through which one can easily control/access settings of different games and optimize them to your liking. You can also use this UI for streaming purposes. It is like a whole software just designed for gaming enthusiasts.

This is how the Stylus Looks like!

Additional Features

The Stylus is considered to be an additional feature which many consumers are pretty satisfied with. The battery life is rated to about 150 hours as mentioned above and its accuracy is on point. It can be considered as a pen and your tablet as a piece of paper, now imagine the possibilities but in a modern futuristic way. It also has a 1.2mm tip and 1024 pressure sensitive levels for users to play with.

Final Verdict

The Asus Zenpad 3s 10 Z500 is an extraordinary piece of machinery which when given the chance will wow any consumer with its extremely precise design and high-end hardware components. I myself was pretty impressed with how Asus delivered on this product.

Sure there are some cons that Asus could improve on but overall the Zenpad 3s 10 is an excellent budget-friendly tablet with all the features.
