These lightweight and multi-form-factor or two-in-one convertible portable computing devices from ASUS run Google Chrome OS and pack some pretty powerful hardware, including an integrated fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The ASUS Chromebook Flip C436 introduces an elegant convertible form factor, featuring a frameless NanoEdge touch display.

The thin and lightweight laptop features a premium design and has a build quality and design that’s attested by the highly coveted and rare-to-obtain Intel Project Athena badge. The newest high-end laptop is housed in a durable yet lightweight magnesium alloy chassis.

ASUS’s newest Chromebook Flip C436 is a premium, high-end Chromebook that’s meant not only for professionals and enthusiasts, but also for media consumption. The laptop features a 14-inch Full HD screen with 1920×1080 native resolution and 100 percent coverage of the sRGB gamut. The magnesium alloy chassis measures only 13.7mm thick and weighs in at just 1.1 Kg. ASUS claims the Chromebook Flip C436 is the thinnest and lightest 14-inch Chromebook available in the consumer market today. The premium ASUS Chromebook comes in two unique finishes: an iridescent Aerogel White (changes color when viewed from different angles), and an understated Transparent Silver.
ASUS assures the Chromebook Flip C436 has been co-engineered with Intel as part of Intel’s Project Athena innovation program. This means the notebook meets the program’s high experience targets and hardware specifications including responsiveness, instant wake, and real-world extended battery life.
Speaking of the battery, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C436 sports a three-cell, 42Wh ‘all-day’ battery pack. The latest ASUS Chromebook offers a full-sized backlit keyboard with an extended 1.2 mm of travel on each keystroke. Users, however, may prefer the Tablet-mode of the ASUS Chromebook as the display can be easily flipped. The display, which supports up to 4,096 levels of pressure, can take input from any USI-compatible stylus.
The ASUS Chromebook Flip C436 runs on a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10210U CPU, with Intel UHD Graphics. It features 8GB of LPDDR3 memory, and a 256GB M.2 SSD. The latest dual-band Wi-Fi 6 radio and Bluetooth 5.0 cover wireless connectivity. There are a pair of USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports for peripherals. A MicroSD card slot can accommodate memory cards as large as 2TB. Being a premium Chromebook, there are ample Google One cloud storage plans.
From a software perspective, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C436 runs the latest Chrome OS, and benefits from Google’s diligence about enforcing two-step verification, checking for third-party app access, logging device sessions, and alerting users about security issues. ASUS has even taken into consideration the audio department, which consists of Harman Kardon-certified omnidirectional four-speaker array.
