The Apple Vision Pro was in Development Since iPhone 11’s Release

Apple recently unveiled its augmented reality (AR) tech gadget, which fundamentally altered how we think about AR moving ahead. With this new technology, virtual reality has been pushed to the background, and immersion into the real world has been amplified. The Apple Vision Pro has been a topic of conversation for a while now, and it’s easy to see why.
According to information provided on Twitter by @aaronp613, the Vision Pro’s Model Number is “A2117“. To put this into context, Apple’s iPhone 14 had the model number “A2649” and the iPhone 11 as “A2111“
Model numbers kept by Apple are sequential, and this shows that the Vision Pro was in developement way before the iPhone 14. While this is no new news, this confirms that Apple took proper research and time to develop the gadget.
One of the Vision Pro’s key developers, Mike Rockwell, confirmed the headset’s long history of development in a podcast. He disclosed that the headset had a codename to keep its true identity hidden from employees.
Vision Pro was in Developement Since 8 Years
Mike explained to the interviewer that how difficult it was to memorize the new name after “the last 8 years” of using the codename. The fact that the headset was 8 years in the making is intriguing. Perhaps Apple wanted to stand out from the crowd of virtual reality headsets already on the market, and in this case, it has succeeded.
Since the Vision pro’s model number comes right after the iPhone 11’s, it’s not clear which statement is true. It is unclear whether Apple merely worked on the technology and released the official product after the iPhone 11 or if they were working on it much earlier.
It’s interesting to see how long Apple has worked on this product, and when it finally hits the market, we’ll see if it lives up to all the hype and expectations surrounding it. However, the information is quite hazy and we cannot come to a specific conclusion. If new information becomes available, we will be sure to share it with you, so check back for updates.
