Apple recently made a surprise announcement about the upcoming iPad Pro and its accessories. This is because of the recent COVID-19 protocols that we aren’t really seeing any flashy presentations. Well, the Cupertino giants made another addition to their lineup. This isn’t much of an addition as it is a good and healthy refresher.
Recently, Apple announced its latest version of the MacBook Air. Don’t be confused, it is the same MacBook Air that Apple refreshed after its previous model. The only changes made are on the internals and the price tag.
The 2020 MacBook Air
Starting with the internals, the MacBook Air now comes with the generation 10 processors from Intel. These go up to a Quad-Core Intel i7 chip. Mind you though, these are Y processors to cater to the low power consumption of the MacBook Air. The processor is generally faster than the previous generation as well. The processor also brings with it new Intel Iris Plus Graphics on board. This means that the device would be delivering about 80 percent more graphical power.
The storage has been upgraded on this model as well. Before, the base storage for the device used to be capped at 128GB. Not any more though. The MacBook Air 2020 starts off at a base storage of 256GB. The best part is that the base model offers this storage for a smaller price tag of $999. This would be a hundred dollars cheaper for students. This is a much better deal than $1099, as it started out to be. Additionally, the storage goes up to 2TB now.
Lastly, Apple has done what we were all asking for. The keyboard, what they call as the Magic Keyboard, is found on this device. This is the same scissor-switch mechanism found on the new MacBook Pro 16-inch as well. This seems to be the upcoming trend for Apple Notebooks. Thank God they ditched that butterfly keyboard though. A new three mic array has been added as well for better recording.
You can purchase the new MacBook Air today as it is available now.
