Apple Will Launch AirPods 3 Next Year: The Buds Would Be Redesigned To Look More Like AirPods Pro

Yesterday we saw Kuo’s take on Apple’s plans for the upcoming year. The main topic of discussion was the ARM-based MacBooks of course. That does not mean that there aren’t other, important products in the pipeline for the company. According to a recent tweet from 9to5Mac, they dissect Kuo’s roadmap for the company and how they may go about other products: in this situation, the AirPods version 3.

The report suggests that Apple would not launch a newer version of the AirPods this year. Instead, we may see the refined version in the first half of the next year. This would perhaps be in the March cycle. We may just see the announcement along with the upcoming MacBook Pro 13.3-inch. According to the report, the company would change the entire design of the product as well. This would be in fact a similar design to what we see on the AirPods Pro. This would be a better solution too, considering they are still pretty huge. The AirPods Pro gives a more compact design. Not to mention, the new AirPods would be light in weight as well which would make them more convenient to use and wear during, for example, a workout.

Kuo previously stated that Apple may stop shipping wired buds with its phones and this may increase demand for the AirPods. Perhaps Apple may decrease the price for them (sounds unlikely though). Perhaps we would know for sure in the months to come. In our opinion though, skipping on the wired buds altogether would make a bad decision. Perhaps Apple has already prepared a politically correct statement for its actions in that scenario.
