Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash Adds First Non-Battle Royale Limited Time Mode

With the holiday season rapidly approaching, Apex Legends is diving head first into the festivities with a new limited time mode. As part of the Holo-Day Bash, the battle royale game has now introduced its first non-battle royale game mode. In addition, the holiday event brings with it numerous new themed cosmetics as well as a heirloom set for Pathfinder.

Holo-Day Bash

“You’re invited to the Outlands’ biggest holiday celebration, hosted by Mirage on his custom party boat, the Mirage Voyage,” reads the Holo-Day Bash announcement post. “Check out the scene and make sure to get the party started.”

The Winter Express is a new limited time mode in which three squads battle over a control point. In what is the game’s first non-battle royale game mode, players are tasked with capturing the objective located on a moving train, or be the last squad standing.

There is no looting in Winter Express, and players spawn with a pre-determined loadout which rotates daily. Eliminated players respawn at the start of a new round, and the first team to score three captures takes the win.

Cosmetics

The Holo-Day Bash event adds 24 themed limited time cosmetics. Players can unlock the cosmetics by using Apex Coins or Crafting Metals, or by opening Event Apex Packs. Unlocking all 24 items of the Holo-Day Bash Collection will unlock the Pathfinder Heirloom set for free. Take note that Pathfinder Heirloom Set is only available via direct unlock after completing the Holo-Day Bash Collection during the Event and cannot be obtained via a Holo-Day Bash Collection Event pack.

Players can also complete new event challenges to unlock exclusive event themed weapon skins. This includes two legendary weapon skins for the L-Star and the G7 Scout. Lastly, developer Respawn has activated a double XP weekend running from December 13th to December 16th.

Apex Legends’ Holo-Day Bash event is live now and available to play for free.
