Amnesia Rebirth will launch on 20th October for PC and Current-Gen Consoles

Amnesia Rebirth, the latest installment in the long-running survival horror series Amnesia is set to release on October 20th. The Studio Frictional Games announced the release date today via another trailer that showed a glimpse of the new gameplay mechanics. The trailer can be seen below.

The game is the successor of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which was released ten years ago, but it takes place 100 years after the events of its successor. The studio has only shared bits of information regarding the plot of the survival horror title. The game follows the perilous journey of Tasi Trianon, who woke up alone at a desert and must figure out what happened and find her way out of the despair and sorrows of the desert. On top of being alone in the desert, Tasi must survive against the monsters with very limited supplies at her disposal.

Talking about the enemies of the game, the Creative Director Thomas Grip said, unlike other games in the series, enemies are more integrated into the gameplay. Enemy encounters will be something to look for in this game, especially because of the fact the game will feature more open environments, which can lead to swarms of enemies to fight.

Rebirth will be structurally similar to The Dark Descent, but it will employ new tricks and tactics to solidify the studio’s approach towards storytelling and level design. Lastly, the game is available for pre-order at Epic Games and Steam at a 10% pre-order bonus discount. However, the same discount will only be applicable for the PS Plus subscribers.
