A few days ago, we reported that Intel had shifted the release date of their premium Core-X lineup as they want to gauge the potential of the 3rd gen Threadripper CPUs. More on this here. Turns out, AMD is not ready to unveil their flashy Threadripper lineup. According to sources from Videocardz, AMD is now planning to shift the announcement of sTRX4 HEDT from 5th November to 7th November.

The initial details regarding the announcement of the 3rd gen Threadripper processors are also out thanks to the sources from Videocardz. They report that AMD is set to announce three SKUs, namely 3960X, 3970X, and 3990X, at this event. AMD will not unveil the flagship 3990X. They will only release a teaser video, which contains the core count the clock speeds. Pricing details will not be shared. Earlier this month, a leak surfaced, it claimed the flagship processor of the 3rd gen Threadripper CPU would have 128 cores and 256 threads.

The sales embargo of these processors is also shifted to the 17th-25th November bracket. We can owe it to Intel’s delay that we talked about earlier. Regardless, AMD is, on the whole, considering the market standing. The specifications of the three SKUs to be unveiled have been leaked earlier.

We only have the rumored core counts and pricing details of these processors. The least specced 3960X will have 24 cores and 48 threads with a TDP of 250W. It will cost around a thousand dollars.
