AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G 8C/16T Renoir Desktop CPU Leaked Benchmarks Put Performance At Par Intel Core i7-10700K And Ryzen 7 3800X

The AMD ‘Renoir’ Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G appears to be a very powerful 8 Core 16 Thread CPU from the AMD Renoir Ryzen 4000 Series desktop-grade CPUs. The latest benchmarking results of the AMD CPU have leaked out, indicating it can easily take on the 10th-Gen Intel Core i7-10700K. Interestingly, the results also hint that the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is quite similar to AMD’s own Ryzen 7 3800X.

AMD is expected to announce the eagerly anticipated AMD Ryzen 4000 Renoir CPUs for the desktop market. These were initially meant for laptops and notebooks, but AMD has repurposed the ZEN 2 Renoir Ryzen 4000 Series for the desktop application. The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is the flagship CPU of the Renoir PRO family.

The AMD Renoir Ryzen 4000 Series CPUs were designed for a portable computing device platform. However, AMD quickly indicated that the ZEN 2 based Ryzen 4000 Series APUs would also be developed for the desktop market. The AMD Renoir Ryzen 4000 family will be adapted for the desktop platform after nearly 3 months since the launch of the mobility family. The main benefits of the Renoir Desktop CPUs would be the updated 7nm ZEN 2 cores and the Vega graphics architecture all packed within a single monolithic die structure.

Speaking about the leaked benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G, two entries of the chip were tested on the ASUS PRIME B550M-A motherboard along with 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory. the processors scored around 1250 points in single-core tests, and in multi-core tests, both chips averaged around 8210 points.

The results indicate the AMD Renoir Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G is as good as the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X as well as the Intel Core i7-10700K which are the fastest 8 core offerings for the consumer desktop platform. If that’s not promising enough, there have been consistent reports of stable overclocking potential on the AMD Renoir desktop CPUs. A few tests performed recently proved these CPUs could reliably hit 4.65 GHz. If the same is applicable to the AMD Renoir Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G then it can easily outperform the Ryzen 7 3800X and Core i7-10700K.

AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G 8C/16T Renoir Desktop CPU Specifications, Features, And Availability:

The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4700G is an 8 Core 16 Thread CPU based on the 7nm ZEN 2 core architecture. It features 4 MB of L2 and 8 MB of L3 cache, which makes a total of 12MB cache memory. It is certainly lower than the 32 MB of L3 cache featured in the 8 Core 16 Thread Ryzen 7 3800X. However, the reduction could be due to the monolithic nature of the chip. Simply put, the AMD Ryzen Renoir CPU relies on a single package instead of the ‘chiplet’ based design used for the Ryzen 3000 ‘Matisse’ series desktop processors.

The CPU features a Base Clock of 3.60 GHz and a Boost Clock of 4.45 GHz. The CPU has a 65W TDP profile and is compatible with the standard AM4 socket. The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G packs the enhanced 7nm Vega GPU which comes with 8 CUs to form 512 cores. The onboard GPU is clocked at 2100 MHz. This makes it one of the fastest clocked integrated graphics chips.

The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G 8C/16T Renoir Desktop CPU is expected to be priced slightly below $300. This makes it a very attractive buy especially because of the competition, Ryzen 7 3800X and Intel Core i7-10700K cost more than $300 US. Moreover, AMD’s own competition doesn’t even have a capable graphics solution, and Intel’s product only has the Gen 9.5 chip.

Reports indicate AMD might offer the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G only through OEM desktop systems, and not as individual CPU, just like the recently reported Threadripper PRO Series. However, experts claim AMD could keep the AMD Renoir Ryzen 4000 PRO series exclusive to the OEM and system integrator market and offer the Renoir Ryzen 4000 Series standard variants to the consumer market.
