AMD Radeon Pro W5700X with 16GB GDDR6 Memory Leaks In Apple Mac Pro Desktop With Single And Dual Configuration Option

An as-yet-unannounced top-end AMD Radeon W5700X Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6 memory has leaked online in the Apple Mac Pro Desktop listing. The high-end graphics card appears to be specifically optimized for ultra-high-definition multimedia creators and editing professionals as well as workstations that operate in the finance and software development fields. Incidentally, the AMD Radeon Pro W5700X could be developed specifically for the Apple Mac Pro Desktops.

We had recently reported on the AMD Radeon Pro W5700 which was specifically aimed at the professional workstation setups. The Radeon Pro W5700 marks a little deviation from the conventional naming tradition that AMD followed for workstation-class cards. Although AMD has yet to officially acknowledge the existence of the AMD Radeon W5700X Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6 memory, the naming scheme clearly indicates it is the mightier version of the AMD Radeon Pro W5700. The W5700 Card is based on the same 7nm Navi-based silicon but is optimized for quite varied workloads.

Apple Mac Pro 2019 Edition Desktops To Get Single Or Dual Configuration Option Of AMD Radeon W5700X Graphics:

It is amply clear that the Apple Mac Pro 2019 Edition Desktop is meant for serious professionals who work in the highly intensive ultra-high-definition multimedia content creation and editing fields. The recently launched AMD Radeon Pro W5700 is meant professionals who work in the design, digital media, software development, finance, and associated fields.

The Apple Mac Pro 2019 Edition has an ATX tower form-factor that houses the latest and most powerful hardware. Apple is offering multiple variants of the top-end Intel Xeon W Processor which packs anywhere between 8 cores to 28 cores. The desktop can be configured with up to 1.5TB of DDR4 ECC memory. The internal storage is handled by a high-end SSD up to 4TB. While these are pretty standard and expected hardware specifications and choices, it is the “upcoming” choices that are highly interesting.

In addition to 8TB SSD, Apple is also offering the as-yet-unannounced Radeon Pro W5700X with 16GB of GDDR6 memory. Interestingly, Apple is offering a choice between a single and dual configuration of the top-end graphics card. With 16GB of GDDR6 memory each, the dual configuration would offer 32GB of HBM memory that would be ample for any graphics task or other professional work.

AMD Radeon Pro W5700X Specifications, Features And Price:

Based on the naming scheme, the AMD Radeon Pro W5700X appears to be the mightier version of the AMD Radeon Pro W5700, which in turn, is essentially the same RX 5700 graphics card that offers assured high definition gaming experience at ultra-settings. Given the similarities, we can assume that only the amount of VRAM is different, while the rest of the specifications of AMD Radeon Pro W5700X remain similar to AMD RX 5700.

The AMD Radeon Pro W5700X, with 16GB GDDR6 VRAM, could be based on the Navi 10 GPU which carries all of the architectural benefits of the company’s RDNA architecture. The feature set includes redesigned geometry and compute groups, display engines, as well as PCIe 4.0. It would have a 256-bit bus with 448 GB/s bandwidth. The typical clock speed could hover around 1,630-1,880 MHz, while the Boost Clock could hit up to 1,930 MHz.

The workstation-class AMD Radeon Pro W5700X GPU could sport multiple display outputs as well as a USB Type-C port. Needless to add, each display output port could easily output 4K resolution.
