Ubisoft Confirms New Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer Game, Codenamed Project Invictus

Last Month at Ubisoft Forward 2022, Ubisoft unveiled 4 Assassin’s Creed projects which include Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Red; set in feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Hexe which will be a new experience in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and could include witchcraft, highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Mirage that will take the franchise back to its roots with more stealthier approach and last but not least, Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Project Jade that will let you experience the journey of Assassins on your mobile.
It was also revealed that a new platform; Assassin’s Creed Infinity, will become a gateway for the players to enter the Assassin’s Creed universe, and codenamed project Red and project Hexe will be the first two games to be added to the new Assassin’s Creed platform. However, the announcements were not limited to these projects only. Ubisoft also hinted at the revival of the Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer experience.
But there were no further details about the multiplayer project, unlike the other announcements. However, the wait is over (kind of), as Ubisoft has revealed a little bit more about the Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer project in their recent financial report. Ubisoft has confirmed that a new multiplayer Assassin’s Creed game is under development and the team working on the project includes the veterans from For Honor.
A team, including For Honor veterans, is currently working on bringing back multiplayer to Assassin’s Creed with a standalone experience through Infinity under the project codename Invictus.”
Project Invictus will also be a part of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, increasing the library of the upcoming new platform that will ultimately add to the fans’ experience. Some more details were also discussed in the same financial report about Assassin’s Creed Infinity.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be a gateway for all Assassin’s Creed experiences where the metastory will live asynchronously. This project will allow us to link games with a common and more coherent narrative thread that will reward players for their involvement in the universe, driving engagement, while at the same time providing more discoverability for the content we create.”
No further details about Project Invictus were revealed. However, we hope that more information about the multiplayer game will be released as we move forward. We will keep you posted about any further details about Project Invictus. Until then, let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
