Absolver’s Publisher Devolver Digital Has Fun On Twitter, Tweets Rockstar For Red Dead Redemption 2 On PC

Devolver Digital, the studio behind popular games such as Hotline Miami and Absolver, has been firing witty tweets at Rockstar. The Texas based video game publisher has been asking the creators of Red Dead Redemption to allow them to publish the second game in the series on PC. Recently, Rockstar Games had confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but no information regarding a PC release was shared.

Earlier this week, when Rockstar shared the first details of the Red Dead Online beta on Twitter, Devolver Digital replied by asking them to publish their new “cowboy game” for the PC.

The publisher casually brags about their knowledge about the wild west theme, and also jokingly talks about keeping it a secret.

“Nobody has to know, we can keep this a secret from TakeTwo,” tweeted Devolver Digital. “We know a person at Steam and can set you up with PC dev kits.”

All jokes aside, a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has not been confirmed. From a financial standpoint, it makes sense to release games on as many platforms as possible in order to increase profits. Fans have been speculating that, similar to Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar will in fact launch Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PC, but a later date. GTA V for the PC was released nearly 2 years after the initial release for Xbox 360 in 2013. With the PC version of GTA V, Rockstar had improved the visuals and added new features, such as a first-person mode. If that is going to be the case with Red Dead Redemption 2, it would be worth waiting for a PC version if the game launches with more features and better optimization.

Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A public beta for Red Dead Online, the multiplayer mode of the wild-west shooter, is planned for launch in November. To learn more about the Red Dead Online public beta, check out the Rockstar newswire article.
