OPN Codes for Ryzen 7000 SKUs Spotted Online

Renowned leaker HXL (@9550pro) over at Twitter has just shared a photo from Chiphell which shows the specifications of an unreleased CPU dubbed ‘Raphael‘. For those unaware, Raphael is the codename for AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7000 CPUs.

The CPU features 16 cores and possibly 32 threads. From the specifications, this is either the Ryzen 9 7900X or the Ryzen 9 7950X. These CPUs support the x86, x86-64, MMX, SSE, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX and the AVX2 instruction sets.
An interesting observation here is that the cores are running at 5.4GHz. It is a bit unclear whether this applies to all cores or we’re looking at single-core speeds, but this is very impressive regardless. So far, leaks stated have that the flagship from Zen4 will top out at 5.1GHz across all cores.

What is an OPN Code?
OPN stands for Ordering Part Number. You can think of it as a barcode making it easier to distinguish one product from the other.
We have come across the OPN Code (100-10000665) for a possible 7900X or the 7950X (based on the core count).
Adding on to that, HXL gave us another possible OPN code (100-10000666) for either the R7 7800X or the R7 7700X. This CPU features 8 core / 16 threads while running at 5.0GHz.

Release Date
Although, OPN codes don’t reveal that much, we still got plenty of information regarding Zen4 from AMD themself;
The show will premiere at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, August 29, on the AMD YouTube channel. A replay can be accessed a few hours after the conclusion of the event at AMD.com/Ryzen.
You can read more about this here but to keep this short, AMD will announce Raphael on the 29th of August, 2022. The launch date is expected to be 27-28th September, which coincidently clashes with Intel’s Raptor Lake announcement.
